Human error can be the cause of many problems which lead to water damage in a property. From poor workmanship on plumbing fixtures, to harmless decisions made in an instant.
‘OMG, IT’S RAINING IN THE DINING ROOM!!!!!’

One of my client’s was purchasing a home, and we were greeted with water coming through the ceiling into the dining room on the first floor when we arrived for the final walk through.
It turned out to be a hairline crack in the toilet tank in a second floor bathroom. We are unsure how it got there, but evidently it held water while the seller was moving out, but eventually the pressure led to water leaking through the crack, and with an open valve to the toilet, it had an unlimited supply to spill out and down to the dining room below.

It only ran for about a day, but it did enough damage that the most of the flooring had to be removed, and several walls required removal of drywall for remediation of the water.
